How do I apply for employment with the Police Department?


You may obtain an application at City Hall M-F, 8am - 4:30pm.  Applicants must be POST certified to receive an application.  All applications remain on file for one year.  Applicants are contacted for interviews when positions are available.

Does Lakewood have a City Court?


Yes, Lakewood Traffic Court is held twice a month at 5pm at City Hall.
The City Judge hears both traffic and code violations.

Does Lakewood have a driver improvement education program?


Yes, the class is one to two hours of lecture, video, and questions and held at City Hall.  Attendees are usually people with traffic violations assigned the class from Traffic Court.

How do I get a copy of an accident report?

Please allow 72 hours before requesting a report. Copies are available from the Records Department M-F, 8am - 4:30pm.  There is a $10.00 fee.  Please supply the accident / incident report number with request.
